Hi!
Thank you for visiting this "about me" page. On this page, I answer questions, describe who I am, and what motivates me to offer the best products for babies and children through Lindique.
1. Who are you and what is your background? My name is Reina, I'm 30 years old and a mother of two. I have a background in business administration and extensive experience in customer service and purchasing. For some time now, I've dreamed of starting my own business. I never dared to take the plunge before, but now I've finally made it. As a mother, I've spent so much time in baby and children's stores that I now have a good understanding of the market and enjoy helping others find what parents need.
2. What does your company do? (Or: what does Lindique do?) With Lindique, I offer a wide range of baby and children's products. The selection is diverse and will continue to grow and change, as I strive to better meet people's needs. I try to include as many handmade and/or organic products as possible in my product range. Handmade items offer something personal and unique, while organic products foster awareness and care for the environment. And that feels like a good choice for more and more parents.
3. Why did you start this initiative? Many (new) parents are overwhelmed by the sheer number of baby and children's products available on the market. The choice is so vast that parents sometimes lose track of what they really need for their child(ren) and what they don't. With Lindique, I want to restore some peace and clarity by offering a clear website with as much comprehensive basic information as possible. This helps them feel confident in making the right choice.
4. Why do you think it's so important to do this? I think parents are sometimes expected to do a lot. While the youngest is getting a bottle, the oldest has to go back to soccer or swimming lessons. And in the meantime, there's still work to be done (often by both parents). Groceries have to be done, cooking has to be done, vacuuming has to be done, the sheets have to be changed. Before you know it, the dishwasher and washing machine are already back in action.
Meanwhile, parents are also trying to maintain a social life, and so on. I believe parents deserve to be able to fully enjoy their family, friends, and loved ones. It's better than endlessly comparing and searching for the right type and version of a product. It's nice to be able to quickly see and assess what a product is, what it can do for you, and whether it's the right one for you.
5. What projects have you really enjoyed working on lately? I've really enjoyed preparing for the website launch. I especially enjoyed developing and designing the website. Going live felt like a new step and a celebration. But we're just getting started. I can't wait to continue improving and expanding the webshop.
6. If everyone were a clone of you, what would the world look like? Wow, what a great question. I think it would be a bit more controlled chaos. Everyone would leave the house and check several times on the way to the car if they have everything they need. Not always the most practical thing to do, haha, but I always think, "better safe than sorry."
7. What can people wake you up for at night? Sushi, chocolate, or a nice hot cup of tea. You can always wake me up for that. Unfortunately, I don't live near the beach, but otherwise, you could always wake me up for a morning walk on the beach or a sunny vacation.
8. What's important to you besides work? My family, my friends, and my extended family are very important to me. A social life in general is definitely important. But above all, finding balance in life, so you still have time for yourself.
9. What does your ideal Saturday night look like? Usually, it's cozy on the couch with a refreshing drink in the summer and a hot cup of hot chocolate or tea in the winter. I enjoy watching my favorite shows or playing a game. It's always nice if I have guests, but other than that, I don't need much on my Saturday night. It's wonderful to have a leisurely breakfast with my bowl of muesli on Sunday morning and start the day calmly.
10. How do you see the future for Lindique? I hope Lindique continues to grow and that I can continue to welcome new and regular customers, so I can continue to delight (grand)parents with unique and practical items for their (grand)children.
Love,
Reina
